About Us

Welcome to the home  of the All India MMA Federation. AIMMAF is India’s only central government recognized Non-Profit Federation that regulates all contests or exhibitions of unarmed combat, including the licensure and supervision of promoters, boxers, mixed martial artists, kick boxers, seconds, ring officials, managers, ring announcers and matchmakers.

In early 2016, the All India MMA Federation was established by an act of the Central Government legislature due to rampant corruption allegation with existing Maharastra state approved association called AIMMAA (All India Mixed Martial Arts Association).  Since that time, the AIMMAF has regulated professional unarmed combat (e.g., boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts/ MMA) all over the country.  The conduct and regulation of unarmed combat in India are now governed by AIMMAF, and are further clarified by the Regulations of the Federation.  The Federation administers the State laws and regulations governing unarmed combat for the protection of the public and to ensure the health and safety of the contestants.

AIMMAF regulates all contests and exhibitions of unarmed combat, including licensure and supervision of promoters, boxers, mixed martial artists, kick boxers, seconds, ring officials, managers, ring announcers and matchmakers.  All India MMA Federation is the final authority on licensing matters, having the ability to approve, deny, revoke, or suspend all licenses for unarmed combat.

AIMMAF appoints an executive director to conduct the day-to-day operations of the Federation.  The executive director does not have a vote on actions taken by the Commission.  Along with collecting fees from the sale of tickets the Federation works with the venues that host events throughout the state.  The responsibilities of the Commission also include ruling in disciplinary cases, and arbitrating disputes between fighters and managers.  Additionally, the Commission is charged with the responsibility of promulgating regulations to implement and enforce the State laws governing unarmed combat.

For all championship bouts, contest or exhibitions and special events, the Federation must approve the contest, must assign the judges and referee to work the contest and approving each bout, ensuring that a contestant is not on suspension status, and determining that a contestant is not being mismatched with a superior opponent.

All India MMA Federation was formed in 2016 to promote MMA sports and to develop martial arts athletes in India. AIMMAF is the only MMA federation in India registered and recognized under the Central Government unlike other associations that are registered under State Government. AIMMAF has more recognition and better legal standing than any other MMA Association or Federation in India.
